Kindergarten with 2 Floors (1570 m2) over 3100 m2 Land with Landscaping

The project is a private villa residence for a small family living in Paseo Maritimo, Bata. The challenge was to provide the client requirements while taking in consideration the harsh weather conditions of the area.The villa consisted of 3 floors and the basement which is the main vital area for the family. Courts were integrated in the villa design to deliver natural lighting and ventilation to this area and also for the connectivity between the different zones of the villa  with Built-up Area 944.00 SQM.
The main concept was to achieve a perfect circulation scenario for the villa according to the client’s requirements while at the same time increase the thermal comfort inside these spaces and creating an innovative, unique, ultramodern design for the villa. The idea of movable offices enabled the creation of a summer and winter court and by that, creating an adapting indoor environment as per the changing weather conditions..

An innovative and functional façade design to unify four-family villas architecturally.

The garden contains four separate houses for different families that have distinct habits and requirements. The project concerns about the adaptation of daily habits to the architectural environment. As per the client’s request, the Mediterranean architectural style is preferred in the facade and landscape design.

The wooden planks that are well-appreciated Mediterranean architectural elements are preferred in warm tones. Required privacy and daylight control are maintained with user-adjustable wooden planks. As a result, constantly changing and dynamic facade is granted.

Building has been designed with the full framed structure. Reinforced concrete load-bearing frame is decided with the simple, platelike and bar elements. Foundations – strip foundation from monolithic reinforced concrete. Walls – small concrete masonry blocks. Windows and glass panels – colored metal-plastic profiles, double-pane insulated windows. Façade finishing – decorative plaster with sand-cement mortar. External stairs and socle walls – cladding with natural granite tiles. Balcony floor – paving with ceramic granite tiles. Balcony railings – metal with forged ornaments. Roof – Finnish metal tile roofing on wooden rafter system.

Such project site is a great privilege. In order to get maximum benefit from the specific location, the studies are made to optimize the user comfort and quality view while taking the environmental conditions into considerations. On moderate slopes which have ratio up to 1:5, it is preferred not using single slab on ground but multiple slab. The choice of multiple slab, fosters the environmental friendly relation with the topography and increases the quality of interior spaces.
