Fire Alarm System
Fire detection systems can be designed to control the operation of the building’s service equipment so as to decrease the spread of fire and smoke. Signals from the system can automatically engage equipment to pressurize stairwells or shut down re-circulating air systems. This helps contain smoke to the fire floor and reduce danger to life as well as decrease property damage.
The alarm system can also be designed to activate smoke exhaust systems in order to prevent the spread of heat and fire. Controls connected to the fire alarm system can call elevators automatically to the ground floor to stop their public use. Fire alarm systems can also be used to activate fire suppression systems, release hold-open devices on fire doors and indicate the location of the fire within the given building.
